There is nothing more luxurious for breakfast than poached eggs. Sometimes, eggs get a bad reputation but like all things, they are great for you in moderation. Lay them over a bed of wilted garlic spinach and a sprinkle of feta cheese for an extra rich but still light breakfast or lunch.
I have always been fascinated by Coco Chanel’s magnificent Paris apartment that has been written about and photographed repeatedly. Even more amazing is the fact that, 43 years after her death, the apartment at is still there and remains exactly as it was when she was alive.
A recent photographic exhibition by director Sam Taylor-Johnson at the Saatchi Gallery in London was reviewed by the Financial Times, 9/6/14. “The apartment is a reflection of a life through objects,” says Taylor-Johnson.
Carolina Herrera, the famous designer of women’s fashions, caused a lot of comment recently when she was quoted as saying, “regular New Yorkers have horrendous style”. Reported by the Page Six Team on nypost.com, 9/1/14 she goes on to say, “I have never seen people so badly dressed in my life!”
Herrera’s complaint originally appeared in Haute Living’s September fashion issue where she gives voice to the worst fashion offense: crop tops on those who should cover up. “When you are very young and you have a wonderful figure you can pull it off,” Herrera says, “but whenever I see this style, it’s usually on the wrong person.”

Of course black can look quite chic, is slimming and yes, is often seen in New York, but by adding pops of color to your wardrobe you can instantly take your outfit from drab to fab. Believe it or not, even those of us in New York City appreciate color.
