Before getting into the industry, I thought it seemed quite simple. You design clothes. You make the clothes. You sell the clothes. Yet, as I quickly learned, there is so much more to it than that.

Back in the day, one had pop quizzes in high school. And now, according to the Internet they’re still considered a useful teaching tool.
True to form, a teacher strides into a room and says, “It’s a pop quiz day.” This is met with loud groans and gnashing of teeth because if one hasn’t completed the assigned reading – it’s thumbs down.

One of my favorite hobbies is touring historic homes. There is something special about hearing the history and seeing it come to life through the furnishings and sometimes the clothing that are on display. In fact, after moving from the West Coast to the East Coast, I was delighted to find so many mansions and estates open for tours.
