This is first time I’ve focused intensely and in-depth on a male for Adea. However, I truly believe the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Ronan Farrow deserves this salute. In a nutshell, his article in The New Yorker was so sensational that it changed the course of history in America, and perhaps the world, by kicking off the incredible #MeToo movement.

On April 19th of this year, Musk turns 72-years-old and her life has never been better! CLICK HERE to read our first blog about this lovely lady.
Now, according to an article I read in Bazaar’s January 2020 edition, Musk is the oldest star ever to appear in a CoverGirl ad campaign. She looks 20 years younger than she is – in other words: absolutely terrific. Her incredible life story is now being told in a book titled “A Woman Makes a Plan” with startling photos from the family vault.

I recently came across an article in a magazine titled Resident that really intrigued me. It appeared in October 2019, was written by Marvin Scott and sported a provocative headline that said, “Dubai: Las Vegas on Steroids.” Who could resist a description like that? Or, as the author says, “There are no glittering lights to lure you in, but there is an electrifying vibrancy that beckons a FIRST-TIME VISITOR.

Every so often history repeats itself. That happened to me when I read a piece in the Weekend Financial Times that appeared in December of last year and was written by Lou Stoppard. He discusses the question of “Why do people still stand in line when shopping on Amazon and other sites has never been more instant and accessible?”

“AND NOW, WITH A SINGLE SOCIAL MEDIA POST, SHE IS ABLE TO REACH DOUBLE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO WATCH THE SUPER BOWL EVERY YEAR”
This statement was made by the Chief Financial Officer, Pierre Andre Terrise, of Coty – the parent company of CoverGirl and other beauty mainstays – in a conference call that stunned everyone.

Over time, I’d heard about Elizabeth Holmes and the Theranos debacle but I really didn’t pay attention until I read about a book that hit the world with great fanfare in May 2018. It was written by John Carreyrou, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter at The Wall Street Journal.

I’ve never liked cheapskates. I once worked with a guy who – when we went out to lunch – would make sure he only paid for what he ordered. And when it came to figuring the tax he made sure the other person paid the extra penny. The result was that, instead of just “splitting the bill” there was a lot of bookkeeping and figuring going on. After awhile no one would go out with him.

On November 1, 2019, I decided to visit MoMA on 53rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues to see the final result of this stupendous project that opened for all to see on October 21st. Frankly, I was amazed at the number of people who showed up. After all, it was a Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm. People should be at work – or at school I thought. Or, was it because this was the day after Halloween? Obviously, I’m a bit out of it because MoMA was like Times Square on New Year’s Eve – but not quite. Everyone was very well behaved and incredibly focused and interested in the art.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2019 – the first day of Yom Kippur – we headed out to our favorite Kips Bay Theatre (2nd Avenue and 31st Street) for a 6:20 pm showing of Downton Abbey. Kips Bay currently has a terrific deal: If one signs up for an “Insider” card (it’s free) you can see a first run movie at any time during the day or night on Tuesdays for $6.00 – which is pretty incredible. Or, paraphrasing The Godfather, I’d say, “That’s an offer we couldn’t refuse.”

I sometimes think that I’ve been sleeping on Ralph Lauren’s bedding, wearing his apparel and buying his shirts for hubby – my entire life. I don’t know how he does it, but I’ve never bought a single thing of his that I didn’t love. He hits it out of the park every time.

I have always been intrigued by the actress/model/director, Chloë Sevigny because she’s an independent spirit who follows her own path. I mean this in a good way. Back a bit, I read that she had just earned a nice chunk of change so she treated her friends to a stay at the GoldenEye resort on the island of Jamaica.

I’m always on the prowl for fascinating females doing unusual things so I was stopped in my tracks by an article that appeared in the New York Post on Monday, September 23, 2019.
