Happy 2018! It seems I say this every year, although, it's true - I can't believe it's a new year already.

I first became aware of this event when I spotted a heads-up mention of it in the November 2017 issue of Harper’s Bazaar. The name of this exhibit intrigued me, so I marked my datebook. I didn’t want to miss it.

On Saturday, October 28th I walked up to Christie’s auction house at 20 Rockefeller Plaza (49th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues) to see Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi, Latin for Savior of the World.

While I was in Miami for Art Basel, I went up to Palm Beach. I had heard about Palm Beach but hadn't been there before; I didn't know what to expect. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! I loved what Palm Beach had to offer - it is its own oasis within Florida with its own personality.

There are certain things that we see, read, sing or eat every year during the holidays. We never tire of our traditions. Or, as Tevye says in Fiddler on the Roof, “And how do we keep our balance? That I can tell you in one word: tradition!” Below you’ll find a Christmas carol, an editorial in response to a letter and a lengthy poem that are examples of holiday cheer that we look forward to revisiting year after year.  

The New Year is approaching real fast. It’s time to think of all the things one really wants to do. This does not mean “resolutions” to exercise more, lose weight and spend less time watching trash TV. Most of these high-minded resolves fade by mid-February at the latest.

Especially in the last few years, fashion publications in the beginning of December speak a lot of Art Basel. This Miami art festival seems to have gone from something for those in-the-know to something for everyone. This year, I got to attend Art Basel, and here's my take.

I have been a fan of this Italian brand for quite some time. There is something special about their designs. The D&G brand is one that exudes the Italian lifestyle.

The famous mantra “Move Fast and Break Things” was used many times by Mark Zuckerberg, one of the creators of Facebook, when the site was growing. Specifically, it means, “As developers, moving quickly is so important that the staff has to be willing to tolerate a few bugs now and then. They can be fixed later on.”
