Did the over-the-top, hyper-styled looks of the blogger-driven street style movement give you fashion anxiety?? Then Normcore just might be the answer.

Rather than prioritizing riotous print-mixing, loud accessories and unexpected combinations a la Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, Normcore takes almost the complete opposite stance and is most assuredly a direct response to the street style circus that has become the fashion crowd standard in recent years.
The look is essentially a mix of casual clothes in simple silhouettes with a sporty slant in a largely neutral, solid palette (your favorite Adea basics will fit right in!), most often finished off with a pair of sensible shoes. Accessories are generally kept to a minimum or are completely non-existent, but baseball hats, basic bags and nondescript sunnies are all welcome.
Sound too boring to you?? Inject some personality with a graphic tee, a loud sneaker, your favorite team’s ball cap, a pair of heavily distressed denim or a nostalgic piece from 90’s fashion. And invest in a pair of Birkenstocks (the unofficial shoe of the movement) for the hot summer months.
Here are some more images for inspiration:

What are your thoughts on the trend? A welcome respite from street style-inspired over-dressing or have the fashion trend-setters taken things too far in the opposite direction? We’d love to hear what you have to say! Comment below…
