I have had a subscription to International Travel News since the turn of the century (a little Irish hyperbole). Seriously, this monthly publication – with its down-to-earth b/w newsprint format – started in Sacramento, California way back in 1976. It covers everywhere in the world EXCEPT the United States.

Periodically I go to the H&M store on 34th Street at Herald Square (directly across from Macy’s) to check out their Third Floor Home Section, which is excellent. That said, I think their apparel for females is lacking in quality and workmanship – I wouldn’t even buy one of their T-shirts.

In May, Interview magazine closed its doors. It was a magazine founded by Andy Warhol and British journalist John Wilcock in 1969. Cue a recent trip to Florida where I was intrigued to discover a Warhol exhibit. The interesting part is that it was being held at a botanical garden. I was intrigued. I knew Warhol from his iconic Campbell's Soup Cans artwork and iconic Marilyn Monroe pieces, but flowers?

I think the reason I’m fascinated with the North African city of Marrakesh is because I’ve watched the movie Casablanca so many times – after all, these cities are only 140 miles apart.

Yes, this is my 200th blog and, truthfully, I’m stunned when I look at this number. It’s been a great ride that started with an interview with one of the charming ADEA principals at the Algonquin Hotel in New York.

This year we decided to watch and celebrate the Oscars with a party atmosphere. It turned out to be one of the best Oscars ever. We trucked in lots of wine and eats:

Anyone who watched Sex and the City has certainly heard of Manolo Blahnik. Sarah Jessica Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw, was an avid fan of the designer's heels. Recently, I finally saw the 2017 documentary on the man behind these shoes - "Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards". Simply put, it is a must-see. You really do get a view into Manolo the man and Manolo the designer.
