As I write this, it's an unusually chilly night in New York City. As the rain continued all day, I got thinking about summer. It's August, and the days are already getting shorter. In turn, we need to maximize the rest of summer while we have the sunshine and warm days.
For this post, I thought it'd be a nice way to give a nod to summer with some of my favorite summer activities, which may inspire you or offer some ideas for your next summer weekend adventure. Of course, I'm looking forward to hearing what you would add to this list too:
• Have a Picnic or BBQ - yum! And, if you can combine the two, even better. In New York, one of my favorite Sunday's includes heading to Central Park with some food in hand, grabbing a spot on the grass and enjoying the company of friends and the scenery. The simple pleasures!
• Read a Book - there's something special about sitting back and reading a book during summer...
• Get Active [Outdoors] - with outdoors being the key word. These are the weeks to enjoy the great outdoors. Maybe there's a nearby trail where you can go hiking or a path you can cycle on - there are many converted railroad tracks in New York where you can now cycle on or walk or jog on - or maybe you want to take a dip in the water.
In the back of my mind, I want to look to fall, as it's one of my favorite seasons, but have learned to instead focus as much as possible on the now. So, instead, I'm thinking about where I can cycle this weekend...
Happy August!

P.S. An Adea Camisole is a great piece to have for summer - versatile, lightweight and comfortable.

I just read an article that sounded – to me at least – like “a canary in a coal mine” or an early warning of danger. This piece, written by Joe Pompeo, appeared in the May 2020 issue of Vanity Fair magazine with the title “The British Tabloid Invasion” and a subtitle that read, “How the Daily Mail is conquering American gossip.”

Apparently the good old U.S. is a nation of “not great” sleepers. Really? And I thought I was the only one! According to a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention it was revealed that one out of three Americans are chronically sleep-deprived. Yikes!

I think we’re all taken by the incredible mystique of the famous French fashion house, Hermès that has been with us for two centuries and is still owned and operated by the same family. From its beginnings in fine equestrian leather goods, they are – in the tumultuous year 2020 – best known for their handbags and many other items.
My image of Hermès has always been rarified products at equally rarified prices so imagine my surprise when I recently received a very stylish publication of theirs in the mail.
