First of all, I cannot believe I am typing these words out, but it is true. Fall is right around the corner. With the unofficial end of summer - Labor Day - having come and gone, it's time to begin thinking about your fall wardrobe.
It's easy to get caught up in trends and what is the look of the moment and think you need to completely overhaul your fall wardrobe. But, in many cases, all you need to do is add a few pieces to make your wardrobe feel like new, which will allow for some versatility in your looks.
Let's start here...
What are your go-to outfits for work for the fall? Are you layering? Could you possibly add one of our Layering Tops to wear under your cardigan or blazer? On the flipside, what about adding a plaid shirt. Yes, this is a trend we are seeing, and yes, you can make plaid look fashionable - dress it up with some gold accessories or bangles. You know I love my accessories!
What does your weekend wardrobe look like for the fall? Do you need something effortless? What about investing in a sweater with some attitude - such as with oversized sleeves, ruffled sleeves or take your plaid to your sweater. A pullover is a quick way to dress up any outfit, allowing you to focus on what you need to get done during your weekend. Plus, adding an Adea Camisole underneath a sweater is a way to stay warm as the days get colder.
Last but not least, what are your go-to looks for going out? Maybe it's for a dinner date or for a night on the town, what is it you feel most comfortable in when going out with your friends or partner and what does that outfit look like? For this part of your wardrobe, what about spicing it up by adding a new clutch or crossover bag? Gucci is still a powerhouse in fashion and still offers solid accessories. Or, maybe you want something new from Céline, as it's Hedi Slimane's first collection for the brand. Again, you know I love my accessories so this could be an area choose to purchase an investment piece that will take you from this season to the next and beyond.
Looks like it's about that time to swap out the wardrobe. Until next year summer...

I just read an article that sounded – to me at least – like “a canary in a coal mine” or an early warning of danger. This piece, written by Joe Pompeo, appeared in the May 2020 issue of Vanity Fair magazine with the title “The British Tabloid Invasion” and a subtitle that read, “How the Daily Mail is conquering American gossip.”

Apparently the good old U.S. is a nation of “not great” sleepers. Really? And I thought I was the only one! According to a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention it was revealed that one out of three Americans are chronically sleep-deprived. Yikes!
I think we’re all taken by the incredible mystique of the famous French fashion house, Hermès that has been with us for two centuries and is still owned and operated by the same family. From its beginnings in fine equestrian leather goods, they are – in the tumultuous year 2020 – best known for their handbags and many other items.
My image of Hermès has always been rarified products at equally rarified prices so imagine my surprise when I recently received a very stylish publication of theirs in the mail.
We use Italian lingerie sizing for our bodywear and items tend to run small.
Because of the body-hugging nature of the fabric and our body conscious fit most women prefer to wear our layering tops as under-layers. If you are inclined to wear them on their own we suggest you size up. Please contact us. We're happy to help you get it right.
