As with any trend I discuss, there are many ways you can incorporate it. I've been seeing a lot of denim in shoes - such as sandals - to bags. And, if you have been following the Adea blog for awhile, you'll know where I'm going with this - accessories. Yes, you can layer and layer denim this season. You can begin with accessories and work your way to your entire outfit or vice versa.
Whichever route you choose, be sure to save room for an Adea Layering Top - an Adea Spaghetti Strap Camisole can always be layered under your denim sleeveless or your multi-wash denim overalls. Yes, I did just say the latter.
Okay, so let's get to the trend itself:
From the runways to the stores, denim is all around, and for this season, it's not just for jeans. The denim on denim trend has always been around in one form or another, as it's a trend that seems to be done by some brand in some way each season. Yet, it is not always as evident as it is now, since this season it is spread across various brands and retailers.
The key to the denim on denim trend this season is to ensure you have different shades of denim. Of course you could do a white denim jean with a blue denim top or mix and match white and black denims, but for this season's version of the trend, you are meant to push it further.
Instead of going with a safer denim on denim look, try going with varying shades of blue. Try for a light blue denim jean or short with a darker denim top. And, if you want to take it one step further, you can pair a blue denim top with a denim jean that has a few shades of blue.
Yes, it's out there and can be done and can be done well. And, it is possible you will not look like a denim patchwork quilt - if done right, you can rock this look.
Happy Styling!

I just read an article that sounded – to me at least – like “a canary in a coal mine” or an early warning of danger. This piece, written by Joe Pompeo, appeared in the May 2020 issue of Vanity Fair magazine with the title “The British Tabloid Invasion” and a subtitle that read, “How the Daily Mail is conquering American gossip.”

Apparently the good old U.S. is a nation of “not great” sleepers. Really? And I thought I was the only one! According to a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention it was revealed that one out of three Americans are chronically sleep-deprived. Yikes!

I think we’re all taken by the incredible mystique of the famous French fashion house, Hermès that has been with us for two centuries and is still owned and operated by the same family. From its beginnings in fine equestrian leather goods, they are – in the tumultuous year 2020 – best known for their handbags and many other items.
My image of Hermès has always been rarified products at equally rarified prices so imagine my surprise when I recently received a very stylish publication of theirs in the mail.
