The beauty of accessories is their power to transform an outfit and help to personify your personality. Are you a fan of hoop earrings or more of diamond studs? Or, maybe you appreciate both, depending on how you are dressed? Well, for this post, I'm going to share some accessory tips with you to help you fine tune your current style or possibly offer some ideas to refresh your current selections.
What I love most about layering is that it simply works for everyone. For example, if you prefer thin bracelets or dainty necklaces, you can still layer multiples of each together. On the other hand, if you like larger or more statement pieces, you can still layer. In most cases, you can have multiple larger pieces together, just keep in mind balance - you may want to add in a few dainty pieces to balance out your overall look.
Mix & Match Metals
The rules of silver with silver and gold with gold are gone. You can now mix silver with gold and even add in some rose gold for good measure. This is a fun way to experiment with some new metals and a way to fold in some trendier pieces to your staples. For example, if you traditionally wear silver, why not add in a couple of layering pieces in gold that you could add in to your current mix? In this way, you add some variety to your routine while still keeping your key pieces in use.
Add a Watch
I'm a fan of large watches - envision the size of a man's watch, but for a woman. The reason I'm drawn to this style is this piece then becomes a statement all on its own. When you wear a larger watch, you don't need any other bracelets and you can even keep your rings to a minimum. On the other hand, if you still prefer a traditional woman's watch, try playing with the layers you add with it - try adding a wide cuff to your other wrist or a few layered pieces to even the same wrist.
As with anything, have fun with it. Take these tips and play with them and experiment with them. Also, take a look at different accessory brands, not only the mainstream and luxury brands but the small brands on the market too. As I started this post, accessories should also help to exemplify your personality. So, be sure to choose pieces that are a reflection of you and not necessarily just because they are the newest trend. When you stick to this thought, you'll certainly be rocking any of the accessories you choose to wear.
P.S. As you decide which accessories you plan on wearing tomorrow, don't forget about Adea's Layering Tops. Although I'm partial to the scoop necks and v necks, there are necklines to fit any necklace combo you choose.

When we saw Crazy, Rich Asians, the smash romantic comedy of 2018, we all agreed that one of the standout performers in the movie was Awkwafina (Nora Lum) – she was a definite scene-stealer. By the way, where are the sequels? The latest rumor is that filming will start with two movie sequels filmed back-to-back in 2020. Don’t bet the rent money. But never mind, when they do come out I’m sure they’ll knock our socks off.
I have a subscription to Air & Space, which is a bimonthly magazine that was first published in 1986 and comes from the Smithsonian. It’s especially relevant this year because this is the 50th Anniversary (1969-2019) of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon. Neil Armstrong’s first words – as he stepped down onto the soil of Luna were, “One small step for man, one giant step for mankind,” as the whole world watched.
Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not a morning person. This means that every day I get up, fire up the computer for emails, stagger into the kitchen to make a blistering hot, strong 20 oz. mug of coffee and finally, click on New York’s Channel One to check on the weather and/or news while sinking into the sofa and trying to wake up. Ergo: I hate mornings or as Moss Hart once famously said, “Nothing happens before noon, that doesn’t happen after.”
We use Italian lingerie sizing for our bodywear and items tend to run small.
Because of the body-hugging nature of the fabric and our body conscious fit most women prefer to wear our layering tops as under-layers. If you are inclined to wear them on their own we suggest you size up. Please email us or give us a call if you have questions about your sizing. We're happy to help you get it right.
Relaxed fit. Wear alone or over any of our layering tees or camisoles.
