Me and my boy

Today is Patriot’s day in Massachusetts so there is no work for me and no daycare for A. Big sister is at Nana’s for a whole week because she gets a whole week off of school. Being 6 is awesome.

So today we will have what we call “Mommy / A Day”. Fun activities for just the two of us. We will start with a yummy breakfast at “Old McDonald’s” aka McDonald’s. This is a special occasion breakfast visit – we will have some pancakes and then go run some errands.

When we get home we will do the following:

  1. Go down the slide backwards at least a dozen times.
  2. Make at least two of the following in the sandbox: pancakes, hot chocolate, cake or hot dog. None of these will actually be eaten but they will be created with the finest care – as if a four star chef were making them…out of sand.
  3. Lunch – this is most likely going to be grilled cheese – a favorite on our special day.
  4. If the mommy angels are smiling on me there may be a nap. This could be a “for sure” if we throw in some laps and a game of tag in number 1 of this list.
  5. Snack.
  6. More outside time – on a beautiful day like this you can’t beat being out in the fresh air and getting excited about the one daffodil that has opened. Seriously. He spotted it yesterday and you would have thought it was Christmas.
  7. Dinner. Yeah, I have no idea what we are having.
  8. Bath / Snuggle / TV Time
  9. Off to bed (and then mommy will be called in at least 15 times for reasons varying from “My pillow fell” to “I just missed you so much, mommy”)

I’m not going to lie. I’m really looking forward to it!

Americans Love to Travel

September 23, 2020

In the May 2020 issue of Smithsonian magazine I came across an intriguing article titled, “A Half-Century of Trips,” written by Ted Scheinman, (a writer and scholar based in Southern California). This features a subhead that reads, “Americans have steadily become more dedicated travelers, despite historic setbacks.”

An Astounding Arctic Endeavor

This is the first thing I saw when perusing the 50th anniversary issue of the Smithsonian magazine for April 2020. This eye-opening 10-page article (with spectacular photos) is titled, “The Ship in the Ice” and concerns a topic we’ve all been hearing about for years, e.g., global warming.

Working Out of One’s Office

September 09, 2020

The pandemic this year has affected all of us in many ways. Two things that stand out in my mind: people definitely need people (to paraphrase the song “People” sung by Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl). The phone, email, computer, TV and all the other digital creations we use DO NOT take the place of human interaction. We all need to see and talk to each other. That said we have also learned that we can work at home very efficiently and handle our normal workload if necessary. Never commute again? I don’t think that will happen, but perhaps we’ll find a happy medium – time will tell.

We use Italian lingerie sizing  for our bodywear and items tend to run small.

Because of the body-hugging nature of the fabric and our body conscious fit most women prefer to wear our layering tops as under-layers. If you are inclined to wear them on their own we suggest you size up. Please email us or give us a call if you have questions about your sizing. We're happy to help you get it right.

MODAL TEES

Relaxed fit. Wear alone or over any of our layering tees or camisoles.
