Well, it seems that spring has (finally) sprung! However, we aren’t out of the (winter) woods yet. Despite the 70-something degree weather that we enjoyed in Boston on Monday, temperatures in the 40’s are back today.
How is one supposed to dress for this crazy weather!? Might I suggest some carefully chosen base layers?? While outer layers are an obvious choice, cardigans, blazers and jackets can limit your outfit options and hide some of your favorite spring pieces from view. Base layers, on the other hand, can work their temperature-regulating magic while hidden from view, letting your springtime fashions take center stage. Here’s what I’m talking about:
Slip a base layer like Adea’s Spaghetti Strap Camisole under a pretty silk blouse.
The cami will give you the extra warmth you need to make it through your morning and evening commute and will save you from hiding your silk top beneath a sweater or jacket and, ultimately, wrinkling it.
Wear a thick-strapped tank like Adea’s Bra-Friendly Camisole under an off-the-shoulder sweater or tee.
The tank will not only allow you to wear a regular bra and feel infinitely warmer, but it will also give your top a sporty-chic vibe.
Pull on a tunic-length undergarment like Adea’s Extra Long Reversible Camisole under open-knit sweaters.
Where a nude bra will do in 60-degree temps, a camisole is needed in 40-degree temps. Pair with leggings and you are ready to go!
If you know the temps won’t allow you to remove your cardigan, make it the centerpiece of your look with an embellished camisole that peeks out at the neckline like Adea’s Lace V-neck Camisole.
A hint of lace or another unique detail at the neckline is all you need to shift a cardigan from supporting actor to lead role.
And with that, my friends, off into the spring weather you go!

I just read an article that sounded – to me at least – like “a canary in a coal mine” or an early warning of danger. This piece, written by Joe Pompeo, appeared in the May 2020 issue of Vanity Fair magazine with the title “The British Tabloid Invasion” and a subtitle that read, “How the Daily Mail is conquering American gossip.”

Apparently the good old U.S. is a nation of “not great” sleepers. Really? And I thought I was the only one! According to a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention it was revealed that one out of three Americans are chronically sleep-deprived. Yikes!

I think we’re all taken by the incredible mystique of the famous French fashion house, Hermès that has been with us for two centuries and is still owned and operated by the same family. From its beginnings in fine equestrian leather goods, they are – in the tumultuous year 2020 – best known for their handbags and many other items.
My image of Hermès has always been rarified products at equally rarified prices so imagine my surprise when I recently received a very stylish publication of theirs in the mail.
