Christmas is a exactly week away and I, for one, am busy trying to tie up loose ends. While the major gifts have been purchased, they still need to be wrapped, the last of my Christmas cards still need to be sent and I have to figure out what to put in my husband’s stocking.
He filled mine to the brim with thoughtful and useful gifts last year and while his was nothing to scoff at, I am determined to get a little more creative this year. Just in case you are in the same predicament trying to fill your loved ones stocking, I thought I would share some of my brainstorming and some of his stocking-filling genius with you.
Splurge a little here and skip the CVS brand lip lube. Spring for something a little more luxurious such as a name brand lip moisturizer, tint or exfoliant.
Whether it’s nuts, chips, dried fruit or candy, the recipient will be tickled pink that you took notice.
A box of tea, bag of coffee or tin of hot cocoa is season-appropriate and comforting.
Favorite Breath Freshener
A supply of your giftee’s favorite gum or mints will not only keep their breath fresh, but it will save them a trip or two to the local drug or corner store.
Hair ties, hair clips, workout headbands and hats all qualify here.
Whether it’s an album or a personally crafted mix, music is always a crowd-pleaser.
Fresh undies are always a treat, whether they are a tried-and-true favorite or something new. (Give Adea’s thongs, boyshorts and panties a try! They are sure to please!)
You know the places that they frequent, so give them a little bit of free money to spend!
Perhaps your loved one loves to cook, craft or tackle home improvements. If so, chances are that there is a tool or gadget that they have been lusting after.
Give a fun design like leopard print or camouflage or a luxurious fabric like cashmere or angora. Their warm toes will thank you all winter long!
Perhaps your loved one’s favorite author has a new book out or their favorite series has another addition. Or, just maybe, there is a how-to book or “fill-in-the-blank” for Dummies edition that will give your giftee the guidance they need to tackle a project in the New Year.
Include the current edition of the magazine in the stocking with a note about the subscription and watch faces light up at the thought of a gift every month for the next year!
Accessories for Tech Gadgets
Whether it’s a case, a new set of earphones, an armband or a decorative charm, these sorts of add-ons are always appreciated.
Hopefully this exercise has helped you as much as it has helped me!! Best of luck over the next week! Happy Holidays!

I’ve never been able to pull it off BUT I’ve always wanted to go to Australia – everything I’ve heard about it fascinates me. That said I often watch those “survival” TV shows where a person takes a wrong turn in a desert, forest, mountain or the outback and is lost for days on end. Then an “outdoor survivalist” comes on and says, “If only they had done thus-and-so – they would have had food and water.”
Over the years, the airline industry has experienced many twists and turns – and one of the most remarkable has been the evolution of the stewardess or airline hostess. That said I was stopped in my tracks by an article in Travel & Leisure, April 2020 titled “Taking Wing.” It featured a photo of a flight attendant’s dress from 1965 and was skillfully written by Ann Hood who has delivered a detailed on-the-scene report.
In a city like New York, that has a population of close to nine million, it’s great to know that there’s something for everyone. This gave me the idea to write about fun and/or favorite spots in all five boroughs, namely: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. So, in this blog we’ll cover places I’ve personally enjoyed over the years and spots mentioned in an article that ran in Condé Nast Traveler magazine in April 2020. Here are five slices of the Big Apple:
We use Italian lingerie sizing for our bodywear and items tend to run small.
Because of the body-hugging nature of the fabric and our body conscious fit most women prefer to wear our layering tops as under-layers. If you are inclined to wear them on their own we suggest you size up. Please email us or give us a call if you have questions about your sizing. We're happy to help you get it right.
Relaxed fit. Wear alone or over any of our layering tees or camisoles.
