It wasn’t too big, it wasn’t too small, the leather was gorgeous, and it had a huge silver zipper running down the center. I had to stop and check it out. Upon opening it and removing the stuffing, I found that the inside was almost as fabulous as the exterior. It’s firm little shape and base promised to hold an upright water bottle, a sleek slot at the rear would fit an iPad or similar tablet and an assortment of smaller pouches, pockets and rings would house everything from my cell phone to my house keys to pens, tampons, gum and everything else a girl on the go could possibly need. And the best part?? The price tag read $228.
Who had made this little beauty? The tag read Aimee Kestenberg, a designer that I had never heard of but of whom I was an immediate fan. I made a beeline for the register, handed them a $15 Lord & Taylor coupon that I happened to have on me, scored an additional Friends and Family discount from a promotion that had started that day and walked out moments later having spent only $169.73. A shopping success if ever there was one!!
If this backpack looks as good to you as it did to me, be sure to check out her collection at www.aimeekestenberg.com or shop additional colors and styles at both Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom. All the bags are chic, modern, functional and moderately priced. A pleasant fashion surprise all around!

I just read an article that sounded – to me at least – like “a canary in a coal mine” or an early warning of danger. This piece, written by Joe Pompeo, appeared in the May 2020 issue of Vanity Fair magazine with the title “The British Tabloid Invasion” and a subtitle that read, “How the Daily Mail is conquering American gossip.”

So cute!! I’ve been eyeing some backpacks lately, but have been looking more at Herschel-style bags so I can fit a computer in there if need be. I love that this bag zips top to bottom instead of across the top—genius!! Congrats on scoring such a great deal!!
