This past week, I could hardly believe it, but there was a crispness in the air. There was that feeling that fall was not that far away. Well, before I knew it, that crispness disappeared and humidity came back in. It was a reminder that summer is not over...yet.

Shortly after the end of the 2015 Tour de France, it was announced the 2016 edition would begin at Mont-Saint-Michel. At that moment, I knew I had to go. Although I had been watching cycling on and off since the time of the Lance Armstrong era, I had been avidly following it the past few years.

On Friday, July 1st we decided it was time to see the current exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum with the provocative title, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology before it ended on August 14th. It’s not smart to delay these things because there is so much to do in New York that a date can just fly by without one noticing.

On Saturday, June 4th I decided to see an exhibit at the Jewish Museum located on Fifth Avenue and 92nd Street in Manhattan. Why was I interested in doing this? Number One, I’ve always been interested in Isaac Mizrahi, who is often described as an American fashion designer, artist and entrepreneur.

Just before the end of the 19th century, César Ritz, unveiled the Ritz Hotel in Paris, which is located at 15 Place Vendôme and whose guests have included Coco Chanel, Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Cole Porter, Ingrid Bergman and the list goes on and on. Now, after a four year renovation, the Ritz has reopened.

Many months ago, I received an email from a friend who sent me a picture of her delightful five-year-old daughter in her karate uniform. “She absolutely loves her classes,” said her mother. Since I have never been part of this world I no idea a child that young could be involved in this activity. This got me thinking: how about a blog about females of all ages in this sport?
