In the world of cheesy egg sandwiches and carby bagels, finding a healthy breakfast that is tasty can sometimes present a challenge. That's why we have these scones. Mini chocolate chip scones are indulgent enough to make you think sinful, but healthy and light, perfect for grabbing and going.
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 large egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp cold butter, cut into cubes
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Directions Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine first four ingredients in a bowl and whisk. In a food processor, combine flour and baking powder and pulse to combine. Add in the butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Remove to a bowl and fold in chocolate chips. Stir in wet mixture until just moist. Turn the dough on a floured surface and knead then flatten into a large rectangle, approximately 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Use a cutter to cut 20 squares out of the dough. Place each square onto your baking sheet and bake for 16 minutes until golden.
Makes 20 scones.

I just read an article that sounded – to me at least – like “a canary in a coal mine” or an early warning of danger. This piece, written by Joe Pompeo, appeared in the May 2020 issue of Vanity Fair magazine with the title “The British Tabloid Invasion” and a subtitle that read, “How the Daily Mail is conquering American gossip.”
